quick glance back
So I have been able to catch up a little bit on sleep over this week and I’m almost back to being a funtional human being again. The festival was absolute insanity but a blast. I worked for Entertainment Tonight and therefore attended and worked most press events and even some screenings. I learned a lot over the past 2 weeks and still need to reflect on it all as it starts to sink in as real events.
Today I took sometime to relax and read Variety and The Hollywood Reporter looking back on the festival and into the summer and next year for film. It was unanimous that Pixar’s UP was a highlight of the 2 weeks and fired on all levels making for a fantastic movie. Arguably Pixar’s best yet-that’s my opinion.
So a nutshell of what the festival entailed for me would go like this:
-about 8am-1 or 2am on average per day
-press events/conferences/interviews (and some screenings) for UP, A Christmas Carol (Robert Zemeckis’s new motion capture retelling with Jim Carrey), Broken Embraces (Penelope Cruz’s latest), Inglorious Basterds (most work by far on this Tarantino/Pitt piece), amFAR-Cinema Against Aids event and auction, The Imaginarium of Dr. Parnassus (Heath Ledger’s final film)
-and some parties and lots of running around delivering tapes and batteries
i gotta go now!
Tonight I have to pack my things to head home on Saturday.
